It’s 90 degrees today in Iowa, but that doesn’t stop me from dreaming about fall, which will soon be here. I’ve got my sweaters and my boots ready, my comfort foods are ready to be slow cooked, and of course, I’m ready for all things pumpkin. I’ve made delicious Pumpkin Pie Caramel Biscoff Cheesecake, Overnight Pumpkin Oatmeal with Cinnamon and Sugared Pecans and now this delicious Pumpkin Streusel Dessert Pizza.
My love for dessert pizza definitely started with Godfathers Pizza. If you’ve never had a Godfather’s dessert pizza, you should seek one out. In college, we didn’t have a Godfathers nearby, so on weekends home I would buy a few and take them back with me to my dorm room… they were that good.
This Pumpkin Dessert Pizza combines my love for the classic dessert pizza and everyone’s favorite fall flavor. I usually cheat and use store-bought pizza dough mix, but you can use your favorite homemade pizza dough recipe if you prefer.
The streusel is filled with delicious pumpkin, brown sugar and pumpkin pie spice. You can even make your own pumpkin pie spice if you want.
I love having pizza nights once in awhile, especially with homemade pizza (or pizza braids) and there’s no better dessert to serve on pizza night than Pumpkin Streusel Dessert Pizza!
Pumpkin Streusel Dessert Pizza
1 pizza crust (homemade or store bought)
2 Tbls butter
1 tsp. ground cinnamon
for the Streusel:
1/2 cup pumpkin puree
1 cup flour
1/2 cup brown sugar
1 tsp. pumpkin pie spice
for the frosting:
1 cup powdered sugar
1 Tbls milk
1 tsp vanilla
- Place pizza crust on a greased pizza pan. Prick with fork several times. Brush on melted butter and sprinkle with 1 tsp. cinnamon.
- Combine streusel ingredients with hands. It will be clumpy. Sprinkle streusel over the pizza dough.
- Bake at 450 for 7-8 minutes.
- Mix frosting and drizzle over the pizza.
I think there is a definitely an issue with the streusel topping – it was extremely wet – I had to keep adding dry ingredients just to get it off my hands… I pre-baked the pizza crust which I am glad I did because other wise I think this would have been a total hot mess…
It turned out well! I would like a little more streusel for the sauce for a store bought pizza crust. Also, should re refrigerate the left overs, or would it be okay left out?
Love how it turned out. This seems delicious just reading about it.
Dessert pizza–I could get behind that!
Oh my goodness, that looks so delicious! I want one, right now. :)
I love pumpkin everything so I will definitely give this a try! It looks super yummy.
I know what I’m making for movie night in October (fall themed). Thank you and with the pics it makes it look easy. I guess I’ll see if it really is. Looks delicious and will definitely help me with my sweet tooth.
my thighs grew 5 sizes just looking at this! I am going to make this, but not because I want large thighs, but because I know everyone in my house would LOVE it! YUM! :)
This looks so delicious, I bet my kids would love to have this as dessert on pizza night!
