I’ve been absent for awhile because we were moving to a new house and we all know how stressful that can be. You never realize how much stuff you actually have until you have to pack it all in boxes and move it.
My time away has been eventful and we are past the point of unpacking boxes in our new house. Thank you!
We are settled into a house much bigger than our last one. If you remember, we had all three kids in one room in a triple bunk bed. Now everyone has their own room. The glorious space!
One thing TJ and I liked about this house was the space and the potential for so many DIY upgrades.
A lot of beige. Trying to determine paint colors now, oh, the choices! These iron railings will go, I just don’t know when and what will be in their place.
We plan to do a total kitchen remodel down the road, but it’s DIY fixes for now. I’ve been researching DIY concrete counter tops and painting cupboards, both of which might happen in the near future. I think I’ve complained about twenty times how I miss my stainless steel Maytag appliances. I now realize how much room that fridge was and how awesome the snacking drawer was for the kids.
This is interesting. It’s what I’m calling our “fireplace wall.” We have no clue where to even start, but there’s been talk between my husband and dad about sledgehammers, which is very scary.
In our previous home, TJ and I shared a closet smaller than one of those. My. Own. Closet.
This is one of the boy’s rooms. What would you do: paint the shelves or tear them out?
On to the kid’s bathroom. I see more cabinet and countertop paint in our future until a remodel can be done.
Now this. This space might be the gem of the house and a potential 5th bedroom or some other cool attic space. This isn’t your typical attic, there is a door right to it on the top floor with all of our other bedrooms. TJ has this remodel on the agenda for fall.
So this is our new place, hopefully where I will be showing a lot of DIY projects in the future! Now I will try to get back into the swing of things with regular updates.
