This is a guest post by Rachel. I can’t believe we are already talking about the holidays, but they will be here before we know it! I love the idea of the scratch map idea.
It’s less than one hundred days till Christmas. For some of you, presents will already be purchased, 1000 Christmas lights will be draped ingloriously over your household items, but others will wait to a more reasonable time to buy everything they need.
While stocking fillers may not be able to fit the main gifts in them, they’re still important as they’re the first thing people see when they wake up and they generally hold some of the immediately usable items, rather than the big things that require assembly.
Finding the perfect stocking fillers can be a tricky task what with the pressure of trying to find something that is small enough to fit in the stocking but not too tacky that it simply offends the recipient. There’s also the difficult task of meeting budget after all Christmas is an expensive time of year. And of course, it’s a necessity that you find something popular or ‘in’. If you’re looking for some inspiration then http://www.gettingpersonal.co.uk/christmas-gifts/secret-santa is your place. Alternatively, take a look at these unique ideas which are sure to have loved ones smiling…
These became popular a couple of years ago and now they’re almost everywhere. They’re in every shop and on every wall. The only place they aren’t yet is in your Christmas stockings. Get them and join the hordes of people mindlessly scratching off the countries they’ve visited.
These boots do a lot of things wrong: They aren’t real boots, they spell cosy wrong and cream probably isn’t the best colour for the sole of a boot/not boot. What they can do, though, is go in the microwave and make your feet all toasty and that. They also smell of lavender to suppress any honking fragrance you may produce, and have comforting beads all around them for if your feet get tired at night.
Grumpy old man gift set
The first two only really catered for the young and the younger than that. If you’re looking for a present for the old bloke in your life then go for this gift set, complete with socks, a mug and some mints- Sufficiently boring enough for any retiring gent.
Microwaveable – Hooty the Owl
If you’ve ever tried microwaving a real owl you’ll know that they smell nothing like lavender afterwards. Luckily, one can make up for past mistakes. This microwaveable soft toy takes only 90 seconds to start whiffing lovely. Don’t leave it in too long though or it might get too hoot.
Anything that’s engraved
At the top of the list is an engraved mirror, but just a bit further down are lighters, keyrings, jewellery boxes and just about anything metal you can think of. These things aren’t quite as expensive as you’d expect, so are worth considering.
Personalised canvas print
Canvas prints are always a popular choice, and they’ve become even rifer over the past few months, thanks to the success of crowdfunded projects and new digital designers. You can also get personalised canvas prints, either with photos, names or messages on them like this one with fireworks and stuff.
Don’t struggle to find the perfect Christmas gifts this Christmas season whether that be as stocking fillers or Secret Santa. We hope that our top gifts will prove to be useful but we are always looking for a helpful hand at what is probably the most stressful time of the year, so if you have any tips or ideas then please send them our way!
