It seems everyone gets busier after Thanksgiving and the “Holiday season” officially starts. Thanksgiving was where I really got to test out my Maytag appliances and ever since then it seems like I have been baking and cooking for different occasions. I’ve hosted book club, made food for my husband’s work potluck and now have Christmas Eve and Christmas gatherings to cook for. The one thing that I’ve noticed and appreciated when making all of these dishes is the vast space of the Maytag® Ice2O® French Door Refrigerator.
I didn’t know this would become one of my favorite features, but the Ice20‘s bottom shelf (where I have the Sunkist and eggs in the photo) has become the perfect feature for entertaining. Why? The space allows for one huge restaurant sized sheet pan with a bit of room to spare. In my previous refrigerator, I had to rearrange everything to even let a 9×13 pan sit flat.
I didn’t think I was going to have any criticisms report back to you, but there is one that I have recently noticed. Small rust spots have begun to form near the fridge handles, which may be hard to see in the photo below. I have been informed that rust can form on stainless steel appliances depending on how you take care of it and the products you use to clean with. It is recommended to use products like Affresh like I showed you in the last post. I have only had these appliances for a few months and have switched to using the Affresh for the past few weeks. I have never had any experience with rust on appliances, but I would think rust shouldn’t appear on new appliances within the first few months no matter what type of cleaning supplies are used. So, even though the spots are small, this is my one criticism so far.
Overall, I’ve been happy with both the Maytag® Ice2O® French Door Refrigerator and the gas range with EvenAir™ convection. I will continue to give you an honest look at each of these appliances over the coming months. If you are in the market for a new stove or fridge, be sure to follow me for updates.
