In all of my 24 years I had never been to any Disney parks until now. My aunt who has a daughter the same age as Colton came across a Cyber Monday Disney World deal for three nights accommodations and round trip airfare for less than $200 per person. This deal was just too good to pass up.
It seems something always goes wrong when flying with kids. Our plane was set to arrive in Orlando around 8:30 pm, already pretty late for a pair of four year olds after an evening of flying. So we boarded the plane as planned but after sitting an hour we had to de-board because of mechanical problems. I know problems arise and I sure as heck wouldn’t want to fly in a plane with a potential hazard, but Allegiant wasn’t able to get us a new plane until after 11 pm. Which means instead of arriving at our hotel to sleep at 9 pm, we got there at 5:30 am…. with a pair of 4 year olds.
Since we were only there for three nights this Allegiant fiasco really set the mood…. and as you can imagine… the mood was cranky and crabby. The best part? Allegiant only offered a $50 ticket voucher to fly with them again because of our troubles. No. Thank. You.
After a few hours of sleep the kids couldn’t wait any longer. They had to take a dip in the pool.
We stayed at Seralago hotel, which I would describe as a budget hotel. It wasn’t anything fancy but it was perfect for our stay in which we only intended being in the room for sleep. The nice part about Seralago is how close it is to all of the major parks.
If you are looking for accommodations for a larger group, I’ve heard many good things about Global Resort Homes who offers beautiful vacation homes near the Disney parks.
Since our day was started so late we decided that Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at the Magic Kingdom would be the only thing on our agenda that day.

We arrived before the Christmas festivities so we could ride the rides and check everything out. Like Donald Duck…

… and the teacups. We had to ride those a few times.
Even though it was rainy, the Christmas Party still went on. We enjoyed hot cocoa and cookies while waiting for the parade to start. The castle was beautiful lit up and the fireworks were better than our 4th of July! The day was exhausting and the weather didn’t cooperate, but Colton enjoyed his first Disney experience and so did I!
