We had our first snow in Des Moines today, which according to the weather, wasn’t supposed to stick because it was 35 degrees. I had to bust out the hats, gloves and boots and head out into the freezing weather to heat up my car. On a side note, you know you’re getting older when an automatic car starter is on your Christmas list.
Colt had preschool today and I was seriously debating saying school was canceled, but we braved the weather and I bundled him up and headed out. I figured everyone would be hiding inside, so I decided to do a little damage at Trader Joes which is usually packed. I always find things I haven’t tried there….
Quinoa. I’ve heard of this before, but have never had it. It was in one of their pre-made salads that I was tempted to buy, but couldn’t justify spending $3.99 on a tiny container of salad. I like the idea of salad + grains.
I don’t normally buy Oreos, but these were just too tempting. Candy canes in the frosting?! I’ve heard they’re delish.
I was really hoping they would have Pomegranates because I have seriously never tried one. You bet I will be google-ing “how to eat a pomegranate.”
Pumpkin butter? Say. no. more.
I then headed to Goodwill to browse and I found these babies from the 1960’s. Who knows if I’m ever going to cook anything from them, but they just look… old, so I like ’em.
