Bananagrams was created by a family of three generations, spanning in age from 7 – 75. As some of the family live in the U.K. and the rest lived in the U.S. they were fortunate enough to meet every summer by the sea on the east coast of America.
The game Bananagrams grew from a passionate love of word games. Obsessed by all the word games that could be found, they all hankered after something a bit more fluid than the classics we all love and wanted a game that the family could play together – ALL ages at the same time. They sought something portable, that they could take with them on all of their various travels and simple enough (with no superfluous pieces or packaging) that they could play in restaurants while waiting for their food. They loved that one hand can be played in as little as five minutes, but as it’s so addictive, it’s often hard to put away!
Bananagrams is for ages 7 & up. In this unique word game, players use tiles to create words crossword-style. The first player to use all their tiles is the winner. With multiple ways to play, this game is perfect for beginning spellers, as well as more advanced players.
There is also the Pairs in Pears and Appletters games as well! Pairs in Pears is a fun way for children to develop memory and cognitive skills while learning alphabetical order, word construction, consonants, and vowels, vocabulary, rhyming, etc. Entire alphabet in each of 4 patterns(104 ivory-like tiles). For ages 5 and up.
Appletters is a domino game where you don’t connect the DOTS… You connect the LETTERS! A fun word game for all. Ages 5 & up.
If you are a traveling family or just would like something to entertain yourselves while waiting at a restaurant than go ahead and purchase all of these games on Amazon or right from Bananagrams website. You won’t regret it!
