The past few years there has been an initiative to limit children’s intake of soda; by removing it from vending machines, offering healthier alternatives, and education about it’s disadvantages. It is hard to find a healthier version of the sugar-loaded carbonated beverages we have all become so attached to and that is why Juicy Juice developed a new Sparkling Fruit Juice, an all-natural, lightly carbonated drink that provides one serving of fruit.
Sparkling Juicy Juice comes in apple, orange, and berry flavors and is a blend of 70% real fruit juice and 30% lightly carbonated water. Each can has less than 100 calories and is an excellent source of vitamin C. With a soda-like can and light carbonation, your children won’t even know this is a healthier alternative. My son was thrilled because he thought he was drinking something special – and it is! You can purchase these new Sparkling Juicy Juices at most major retailers and at Amazon.com (and your kids will thank you!)
Are you a Demi Lovato fan or know someone who is? You could “get your sparkle on,” with Demi and enter for a chance to win a VIP trip for four to Hollywood, CA to actually meet her! Check out Juicyjuice.com for the official rules and entry form. Sweepstakes ends October 17th.
Enter to Win! One Busy Mommy reader will win a Juicy Juice prize pack consisting of samples of each flavor of Sparkling (orange, berry and apple) along with a Juicy Juice tote bag.
Leave a comment below letting us know any healthier alternatives you give your children, whether it be a granola bar instead of a candy bar or Whole Wheat bread instead of white, let us know! Want another way to win? Subscribe to our monthly newsletter!
Giveaway ends October 13th. US Residents only. Samples were received

And nutritious snacks such as fresh fruit, yogurt, whole grain cereal bars and cereals for our kiddos – and us too!

Fruit for a snack instead of fruit snacks
Lucky for me I have a very healthy eater…her favorite snack is fresh cucumber or tomatoes. For quick car snacks I like to carry the drink-able fruit smashes like the Revolution ones or the Trader Joe’s Apple/carrot blends.

We never buy white bread anymore. My granddaughter likes a peanut butter sandwich on wheat bread for an afterschool snack.
We pretty much eat what we want. I focus more on their activity level, not so much what they eat. However, I only use 100% fruit juice and whole milk. They do like vegetables and fruit which are in addition to everything else we eat, and sweets are limited. Overall though, when they are active enough, fats and calories are easily burned off. The focus being that children should be outside all day playing and not inside in front of a television, video games, or computer. Those three alone are the cause of health concerns these days in children that we didn’t have when I was a child.
I get these all the time
wheat bread, broccoli and cheese soup, and veggie lasagnas made with wheat pasta

My children and I work together to grow vegetables in our back yard. We pick fruit from our trees in season. The kids are delighted to eat fresh vegetables cooked or not instead of snacks from the
grocery store. They eagerly eat the fruits they picked themselves.
