Female Libido: Is It Lost After Having Kids?

The American Medical Association claims that several million U.S. women suffer from lack of libido and others claim that the number is almost half of American women. Some may think this is an outrageous number, but if you are a mom like me- you may think that number is pretty darn close. Once you have children, those famous excuses of “I’m too tired” or “I have a headache” are most of the time true. Did you know that fatigue, stress and depression are some of the causes of lack of libido?

We all know that most men have a higher sex drive then women and this issue can even cause serious marital issues. When you become sick, you take medicine, right? If you break your arm, the usual procedure is to get a cast, correct? So why are most women avoiding this issue and not doing anything about it? It may be that you are embarrassed, think nothings wrong, or it is not a big enough deal to talk to someone.

Well, we are living in a technological world and almost all information is at our fingertips. You don’t have to feel embarrassed, you can search and seek out information right from your own home. There is actually a lot of information out there. Everything from the causes of low libido to ways you can increase it.

In addition to product recommendations, they have a list of informational articles and blog posts dedicated to helping women with their lack of libido.

Romance and Your Loving Relationship

handsRomance is an essential part of any marriage.  I recently watched Dr.Phil and the topic was on “platonic” couples – couples who are married, but aren’t intimate often.  One couple hadn’t been intimate in years!  A guest speaker on the show was Rabbi Boteach, author of  Kosher SutraSounds funny right?  I thought so too at first, but as the show progressed I was amazed at what the Rabbi was saying and everything just made sense.

How do you restore romance in a relationship?  The Rabbi says you have to have “lust,” in your marriage.  Act like you are “dating,” your spouse again.  How do you do that? Think back to your dating days- what made your spouse attractive?  Did he buy you roses just because? Did she write thoughtful love notes?  Using this tactic could get your “motor running” again!

The guest couple on Dr. Phil had a couple of “excuses” for not being intimate.  The husband had three heart attacks and was simply scared of dying while doing the deed!  He was also on medications that caused him to have a non-existent libido.  Dr. Phil and Rabbi Boteach said that is no excuse!  Especially today, you can still be intimate no matter what your age or condition (for the most part).  There are a number of products that allow even the oldest of couples to remain intimate - obviously viagra is a popular choice.  It’s no coincidence that the majority of long lasting marriages are aided through the trials of time by strong intimate connections.  However, it is important to understand that being “intimate” doesn’t necessarily mean having sex.  People just need to be touched!  Show your spouse you care by giving them a massage or even a small gesture of love… it could ignite the flames of romance or keep them burning bright.

Own Your Own Sexuality: Become a Sexually Confident Wife

Many women like you are thinking, “What went wrong?” The initial romance and spark in a relationship sometimes seems to vanish not long after the vows, and if not by then, probably when the first child arrives. From previous posts, I have gotten many Google hits on, “how to spice up a marriage.”… How do you do that? As a mom, it is not always easy to feel sexually confident. After dealing with baby poop, drool, spaghetti on the floor, and daily temper tantrums, moms don’t usually feel sexy at the end of the day.
A healthy sex life that is so important in every marriage. This is part of your relationship should grow and mature as each partner does naturally. That deep connectedness that can only come from making love needs to be nurtured if it is to grow. The rewards of fueling the fire can be greater pleasure than you have every known and the risk of letting that fire burn out- well I don’t want to go there.
This month we have a giveaway that might offer a little help in this department- in more ways than one. This giveaway comes from a company that is owned by a thirty something couple who has been together for ten years now. They have found some interesting ways to nurture and grow their sex life with the help of some of the books and toys you can buy on their website – www.mywildlily.com

About My Wild Lily
My Wild Lily is a great place to explore ways to nurture your sex life. They carry a great selection of books and instructional videos along with a collection of beautiful adult toys. They feel whether you want to explore your own body’s pleasure potential or share the experience with your husband- the experience is worth having.
If you have not seen any type of toy in a long time, you should definitely go take a look at what they have. They sell a European collection called “Lelo” that looks like it belongs on display in an art gallery. They also have the worlds first ever green technology sex toy “The Earth Angel”. This toy never requires replacement batteries and houses its own patented power core. Their prices are always best of web. Make sure you check out the “about us” link on their website. They have an interesting story about the naming of their company.

The Sexually Confident Wife – giveaway
Shannon Ethridge is the author of, “The Sexually Confident Wife.” She challenges adults to embrace a life of sexual integrity as well as encourages sexual fulfillment in marriage. Even if you are sexually confident, there is something in this book for you. Shannon covers topics such as: “harnessing your sexual power, tantalizing sexual techniques, refueling that lovin’ feeling and experiencing the big “Oh.”
With My Wild Lily and the Sexually Confident Wife, we can push that, “mom mentality,” away- at least when the kids are asleep. My Wild Lily would like to give a copy of, “The Sexually Confident Wife,” on Busy Mom!
