Barbar: Ceramic Cordless Flat Irons
Barbar first started in Beverly Hills, California… the capitol of beauty. The styling tools, a favorite among celebrities, are “superior, durable and eco-friendly,” and cover all of your hair needs without damaging a strand. They carry all of your hair styling products such as blow dryers, flat irons, curling irons, treatments, scissors, steamers, clippers and brushes.
I was able to try the Barbar Black Ceramic 1800 Cordless Flat Iron. Being cordless, I thought this would be something I would be able to walk around the house straightening my hair with, but it is much easier to do in front of the mirror.
I was using the generic CHI before coming across this straightener and hands down this is the best straightener I have used. I haven’t gotten a haircut in months, so I have many split ends. After I use the Barbar straightener, the split ends seem to smooth out and my hair is shiny.
Here are a flat iron few tips courtesy of Barbar:
Comb your hair and make sure to get out all tangles and knots. Use a blow dryer to get the rest of the wetness out of your hair because ironing your hair while it is wet can damage it considerably. Tie up the top half of your hair so you are able to concentrate on the bottom half first. Part the bottom half of your hair into three or four smaller sections, that way it is easier to get each strand straightened successfully. The sections should be about 1 to 2 inches wide and about ½ thick, so you may have to do multiple sections if you have a lot of hair.
Hold a section of your hair from the tips and clamp the ceramic or titanium iron of your choice as close to the roots as you can. Run the iron slowly down the shaft of your hair until you reach the end and then repeat the motion until you hair is straight to your satisfaction. Do this with every section of the bottom half of your hair and then tie it back and work on the top half in the same way. The iron may sizzle or produce some steam but there is no need to be alarmed, this is only the heat of iron reacting to your damaged hair.
Barbar Black Ceramic 1800 Cordless Flat Iron Pros:
- Doesn’t damage hair
- Creates smoother and shinier hair
- Sleek look
- Quick heat-up time.
Cons:
- Loses heat quickly when you go cordless (I’d say about 2-3 minutes)
- Loud beeping sound when completely heated.
Overall, the pros outweigh the cons (I am just being nit-picky). I would recommend Barbar products to my friends and family- definitely the highest quality straightener I have found!
