Birchbox Deluxe Beauty Sample Subscription Service

I saw talk of Birchbox on twitter and Pinterest and was intrigued. Birchbox is a subscription beauty box service that sends four to five deluxe beauty samples to your door each month for only $10. I wanted to try it out so I bought myself a three month gift subscription. Part of the excitement in receiving the beauty box each month is that it seems like every month is your birthday! Each box comes packaged beautifully with tissue paper and ribbon.

I typically don’t buy many beauty products, partly because I don’t spend a lot on myself and because I just don’t know what to buy. I’m not too beauty savvy and that’s the reason I like Birchbox.

For $10 a month I can try out all of these different beauty products and find out what products work best for me. Now, instead of going to the store and grabbing a full size (and full price) eyeshadow, face wash or other beauty product and hoping I like it, I can purchase full size products of those I know I like.

Here is my March box:

This month my box included:

  • Deborah Lippmann Stripper To Go (for removing glitter nail polish)
  • Orofluido Elixr (A hair serum that can help achieve a tousled look or a straight and sleek look)
  • Juice Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser
  • Eye Rock Designer Liner
  • Hollywood Fashion Tape
  • Annick Goutal Eau d’Hadrien Perfume

I’m most excited to try the Beauty Blemish Clearing Cleanser because even though I’m out of those teenage years I still get stubborn acne.

I’m lovin’ my Birchboxes and I think I’ll buy myself another gift subscription! If you’d like to treat yourself or someone else to a Birchbox, you can sign up for a monthly subscription or a 3, 6, or 12 month gift subscription in which you pay up front.

You deserve it!

I Was Cursed With Short, Thin Eylashes – Were You?

eyelash

I was cursed with short, thin eyelashes.  Thanks Dad.  I admit that I try the “latest and greatest” products out there that claim to elongate and thicken eyelashes.  My eyelashes are so thin, when I go out  with friends or to events, I put on fake eyelashes.  They don’t look fake on me, in fact, they make my eyelashes look somewhat normal.  I would love to have thicker, longer eyelashes without having to put fake ones on.

I have been very intrigued by the new Eye lash growth products, particularly the serums.  If you love “As seen on TV” products, then you’ve probably seen RapidLash.  This serum claims to thicken eyelashes and eyebrows in 4-6 weeks using polypeptides to provide protection against breakage and proteins to fortify.  Sounds like a great shampoo for your lashes, right?

I have always wanted to try a serum like this, but I wear contact lenses and my eyes eyes irritate easily.  RapidLash has actually been tested safe for contact lens wearers!  As seen on Tv products usually make people have their doubts, “Does this really work?”  I wanted to see what real people are saying about this product, so I went to drugstore.com to check the customer reviews.  Out of 214 reviews, this RapidLash product has received 3.5 stars.  Here are some of the real customer reviews:

Customer #1: Pros: Easy To Apply  Describe Yourself: Trendy Style  Bottom Line: recommended

Have had chemo two different occasions and lost my eyelashes. they never came back fully…this product has helped tremendously. i now have my youthful eyelashes back. product takes several weeks before seeing an improvement but it was well worth the wait!!

Customer #2: Pros: Easy To Apply Bottom Line: recommended

I have been using this product about eight weeks now. My lashes have never been so long and thick. Even the few missing lashes on the bottom have grown back. I also use it on my eyebrows where I have overplucked over the years. Those places are growing back also, but not quite as fast. I love this product. The only downside is it did make my eyes a little itchy at first, but that stopped after a couple of weeks.
There are 214 customer reviews that you can look through and see if you would like to try it yourself.  From looking at the reviews, I am drawn even more to the product.  We all want longer, thicker lashes, right?  Have any of you used this product?  Let us know!
