Through the 1st: intensely researching international adoption, local agencies and available countries.
2nd: Choose the agency About A Child and the Ghana adoption program.
Months of waiting, discussing, praying about our decisions and waiting to start officially until we got closer to our 25th birthdays. (based on age requirements)
May 31st, 2012: Sign contract and send first payment installment.
4th: 1st homestudy visit.
12th: Fingerprinting for Homestudy
July 18th, 2012: Accepted referral of “J”, age 5.
2nd: Last homestudy visit
14th: Homestudy and dossier documents complete.
18th: Dossier and photobooks sent to Ghana
25th: Accept referral of “F”, age 4.
31st: Send application for I600
5th: Send second payment installment
13th: Book flights for first trip!
2nd-9th: Meet our children in Ghana!
11th: Biometrics appointment
15th: 1600a approval
26th: Passed court!
1st-8th: Fly to Ghana to File i600 (Filed on December 5th)
5th: I600 Approval
