Emily is a young Mom living in Des Moines, Iowa (one of the top rated places to raise a family.) She stumbled upon how useful the internet could be for a new Mom craving adult interaction, after the birth of her son in 2007. While living in married-student housing at Creighton University, she had no family nearby and no friends who shared the same experiences.  The internet became an outlet to express her opinions and to gain insight from other Moms going through the same highs and lows of being a mother and wife.

Meet the Fam

Colton: My rambunctious 4 year old is my only child and eagerly awaits the time he will finally get a little brother or sister (Our family jokes he will be a teenager before we have another one). He has the personality of his dad, aka drama king. That’s ok, it makes life interesting. He’s a total boy, loving everything sports, cars and pirates, but he has a slight obsession with singing and dancing. You can read more about our life before Colton and what it was like raising a baby in college, which led to my creation of my blog.

Busy Mommy has evolved over the years and has finally emerged as a popular women’s online resource for beauty, fashion, faith, relationships, food and going green, all with a little parenting in the mix.

With a Bachelor’s Degree in Art, over 5 years of photography and photo editing experience, and a love for marketing and recipe development,

Emily brings a creative, young, and fresh perspective to the internet world and “mom blogging.”
