Do You Have The New Mom Blues?

I was a young mom when I had my son. I just turned twenty years old and was about to start my junior year of college. I gave birth to Colton via c-section in the beginning of August and developed an infection which left me feeling even more under the weather. To top it all of, we moved to Nebraska only a few weeks after the birth and I started back to school part time.

We lived in married student housing.

My husband was a busy economics major and baseball player which meant late nights and when the season started, he was gone several days at a time.

The only time I went out of the apartment was for school and grocery shopping. I think in my circumstance a bout of depression was inevitable, whether it was post-partum or just being secluded as a new mom while everyone my age had places to go and people to see.

I got over my short case of the blues without any help, but I would encourage you to seek help through your family doctor or even talk about it with family or friends. Stay strong!

Considering what you were dealing with (all at once) I can see getting the blues. I am expecting my next, so hopefully I don’t feel so overwhelmed…thank you for the resource if I do.
