After Weeks of Technical Mayhem, We Are Back!

You may have noticed for the past two weeks we have been having some technical difficulties. Along with thousands of other GoDaddy hosted blogs, we were hacked twice within two weeks, in which malicious code was installed into our files. If you have ever dealt with these kind of security issues, than you know it is disheartening. I have dealt with these kinds of problems before (not on Busy Mom) and each time I just get an overwhelming feeling of panic.

I hope my days of technological bad luck are over. Someone please send some good luck my way!

The first time Busy Mom was hacked, I tweeted out in desperation after GoDaddy left me to fend for myself by simply just sending  a tutorial on “how to remove malicious code”. That’s when Tim aka “Mommy Bloggers BF” came to the rescue.

Because of the security issues I was having on GoDaddy, I switched hosting accounts to HostGator. In the process, many of my WordPress files were damaged, leaving me unable to even write a post or edit the website (Why I’ve been missing for awhile).

Long story short, because of how impressed I was with Tim and his services, I joined Mommy Bloggers BFwhich is a program that provides technical support to mom bloggers (and free hosting). I jumped on board because:

  1. I don’t want to deal with any problems if WordPress fudges up again. I hate coding and html.
  2. Hackers usually go after the big guys like GoDaddy, Bluehost, HostGator, etc.
  3. IF I do have security issues on Timbury Hosting, I can call the owner (Tim) directly on his cell phone. I won’t have to wait on hold twenty minutes for a person who doesn’t speak English.

So, if you want a fool-proof way to run your blog without any hassle, I recommend Tim from Mommy Bloggers BF.

The files were cleaned up and the WordPress problems were fixed today, however there may still be some glitches. Please contact me if you stumble upon anything.

Sponsors: I know a few great businesses are waiting for posts to appear on Busy Mom. They will be up as soon as possible. Thanks for your patience!

  1. Great post, Emily! Thank you for sharing your good experience with Mommy Bloggers Best Friend! Tim has saved my blog (and my sanity!) more than once as well! :)

I’m also trying to send that good luck your way! ;)

  2. Yay so glad you are back up and running again!!!

  3. Every time I read about all of the mom dotters have issues with GoDaddy, I was just sick … if that had happened to me, I would have been a big puddle of mess. I’m glad you’ve found hosting you’re happy with!

  4. So glad to see that you were able to get everything worked out! I would have been so upset, but you held it together and found a better option for your site!

  5. I am going to switch from GoDaddy before anything happens. You are a trooper. I might have given up!
