I rarely drank coffee before I had a child, but the sleepless nights and early mornings turned me into an avid coffee drinker. Most of the time it is inconvenient and expensive for me to go to a coffee shop, so this Tassimo Tassimo Home Brewing System makes life much easier. No need to change out of your pjs, get the kids in the car, or spend $5 for a large Mocha – you can have Starbucks at Home!
The Tassimo isn’t your regular coffee maker….
Unlike most brewing systems, the Tassimo can make almost any hot beverage you want. With the capability to brew lattes, cappuccinos, hot chocolate, tea and of course coffee- there is sure to be a hot beverage for each member of your family. How is this innovative machine able to make such a variety? T-Discs! These discs are “pods” which hold a perfectly measured amount of coffee, tea, chocolate or concentrated milk until you are ready for that morning cup of coffee.
Each Tassimo Disc has a bar code printed on the label. When you are brewing your hot drink it automatically reads the bar code and calculates the amount of water needed, brewing time, and the temperature required to prepare it. T-Discs come in many delicious flavors and I am assuming that more will be added soon.
Coffee Flavors:Starbucks, Seattle’s Best, Gevalia Kaffe, Maxwell House Cafe, Mastro Lorenzo, Carte Noire, Jacobs, Rainforest Alliance Certified.
Specialty Coffees:Espresso, Starbucks Cappuccino Primo, Gevalia Cappuccino, Maxwell House Cappuccino, Starbucks Latte Primo, Gevalia Latte, Maxwell House Latte, Jacobs Latte and Hot Chocolate.

Almost all machines have something that you wish to tweak or change and the Tassimo is no different. I find that the drink sizes are small and sometimes the concentrated milk does not all come out, which may attribute to the small portions. There is a button that you can extend the brewing time, however, this can make the drink very diluted.
Despite a few cons, the Tassimo ranks #1 in my book. I have not seen any other single cup home brewing system that is capable of brewing lattes or mochas and that is the only type of coffee I drink. I recommend the Tassimo Suprema for any Busy Mom’s who need a java jolt, but don’t want to spend $5 for a latte. You can purchase the Home Brewing System I reviewed at the Tassimo website for $169.99.

Hi Ivette! I have noticed many people saying that is one major advantage the Keurig has (the ability to brew your own coffee). I bet you that Tassimo is going to come out with some sort of adapter or way to use your own as well. Since I dont like “regular” coffee, only latte’s and mocha’s etc, the Tassimo beats the Keurig any day in my book. The Keurig is also massive (my dad has one). I think they are two very different, but similar machines if that makes any sense haha.
Emily, I think we are sisters and we don’t even know it!
I blogged about the same coffee maker debate (Tassimo vs. Keurig). I personally decided on the Keurig because of the ability to use my own coffee. I also have had a chance to try both coffee makers, and they both make great coffee.
Congrats on getting one – I’m still hoping for mine as a Mother’s Day gift…
I’ve heard many good things about the Keurig and Tassimo! I think I’d love to have either.
Great review…we have a Keurig which I am in love with, though I know people with the Tassimo who love that too.
Great review! I recently ran out of T-Discs and passed the Tassimo on to my neighbor. I am attached to my Keurig and the ability to use regular coffee with it.
