About a week ago I decided to get out my Kindle and start reading again now that I am a work-at-home mom and need a break from daily duties once in awhile. I was browsing around the Kindle store and clicked on the topic Mystery, one of my favorites. The #1 and #2 books were part of a series, Cape Refuge. I clicked on it and wow, $0.00! Sure, I will “order” that and see if it’s any good. (Turns out the author, Terri Blackstock, was giving free downloads of the first two books in the Cape Refuge series for a limited time).

I started……. and could not stop.

Cape Refuge , the first book in the series, is a mystery novel that leaves you on the seat of your chair. A double-murder shocks the vacation town and as their small police force tries to solve the murders- accusations fly.  I kept thinking I knew the outcome but then came a twist in the story.

Terri Blackstock is an award winning Christian writer who successfully weaves a faith message into a murder mystery. You feel many emotions, like the characters: sorrow when tragedy happens, suspense when there is about to be a break in the case, and an uplifting feeling as characters turn to God and ultimately put their trust in him.
