Martha Stewart- Gone Crazy?
If you haven’t heard Martha Stewart’s recent “attacks” on others lately, than you haven’t seen the real Martha that is starting to emerge. I used to genuinely like Martha- even after her “brush with the law”. I put my visions of her in an orange jumpsuit behind and enjoyed all of her creative shows, magazines and products. I wrote about her here, here and a few other times.
A week after Martha Stewart and Rachel Ray appeared on each others shows- Martha declares in a TV interview, “She did a new cookbook which is just a re-edit of all of her old recipes.. and that’s not good enough for me.” Also stating that Rachel is just an entertainer, not a real teacher like herself.
Martha must have woken up on the wrong side of the bed this month because she also lashed out at Sarah Palin saying she is a “dangerous person” and “wouldn’t watch her if you paid me.”
Hey Martha, your followers aren’t going to be very supportive if you continue to lash out at others like someone who just wants publicity because they are becoming old and irrelevant. Soon we are going to be putting you in the “crazy” category with Paula Abdul.
Come on Martha, pull it together.

well - I agree with her about Sarah Palin but she still should be nicer … at least in public. No one likes people that bash other people!

I think the media has played a big role in the negative view of Sarah Palin. People just look to what the media has said about her and formed an opinion based on that. I applaud her for still being in the public and facing the biased media. Martha Stewart probably doesn’t know one thing about her - except she is a conservative. As mothers, we should all give her props for being a working mother and facing the world who only has negative things to say about her and her family.

I agree. Nobody likes someone who bashes other people. I really thought Martha had more class than that.
Comment by Barbara Platt on 22 November 2009:
I heard the comments and I don’t think Martha meant any harm toward Ray. I love Martha.
This Democrat turned Independent since the last election, loves Sarah Palin and will vote for her if she runs.
And as for Paula Abdul, I love her, too.

@Barbara Platt
I’m glad you are going against the grain! I am an Independent turned Republican because of the last election. I like Paula too, but I still put her in the crazy category

Gah that’s crazy, but I’ve never been a big Martha fan, I do love me some Rachel Ray though lol.

“Hey Martha, your followers aren’t going to be very supportive if you continue to lash out at others like someone who just wants publicity because they are becoming old and irrelevant.”
I guess I woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning.
But it might appear that you think folks become irrelevant when they get old? I’m certain you didn’t mean that.
It also might appear that you’re having no problem bashing Martha Stewart to increase your “ratings.” I’m certain you weren’t trying to do that.
Martha honestly answered questions that were put to her. Is she supposed to lie so she seems warm and fuzzy (which she isn’t)?
So we have her motivation for what she said. What’s yours?
Comment by Emily on 23 November 2009:
Hmm.. honestly, none of that really made sense. I am simply stating that I loved Martha Stewart and am now questioning her because of her recent antics on camera of bashing others for no reason.
And yes, when people in show business get older- they do become irrelevent. They’ve been in the limelight, had their fame and now the public wants something new. That certainly does not mean that in real life people become irrelevant.
Hmm.. my motivation for writing this post? Sure as hell not to increase my ratings. This post won’t bring in anymore than 50 people. This is a BLOG in which I express my feelings. I was just telling my viewers why I don’t care for Martha Stewart anymore (with very good reason).

You know what Thumper says….If you can’t say anything nice, don’t say anything at all-or something to that effect. LOL Martha-take heed. Be nice.

I have always sort of liked Martha but she seems to come across a little arrogant which puts me off and maybe she needs to remember it is the fans that made her famous and rich!
Comment by Cori Westphal on 23 November 2009:
I gotta tell you I’m watching Martha right now, and she actually stopped the show to make a comment about this. She said it’s ridiculous and she LOVES Rachael Ray. I hope she’s serious…who doesn’t love Rachael Ray?!
Comment by Emily on 23 November 2009:
Haha that’s hilarious that she stopped the show. I’m glad she commented about it. I know, I love Rachel too!
Comment by Lauralee Hensley on 23 November 2009:
I actually love Martha’s daughter and her daughter’s friend show. I think you can gain alot of insight from comments her daughter has made. I think Martha is a type A personality, and she has her own ideas about being successful. I don’t try to get into celebrities when they say things about each other, but I think you can learn alot from both Rachael and Martha. I think Martha worked very hard to get to where she is today, and likewise Rachael, so I only try to take away good things from both of them when I watch their shows and also when I purchase some of their products.
