Please help me find this blankie!

dscn1686

I know moms everywhere will be able to relate to this plea!

Do you see this adorable little girl in the picture?  She is my oldest daughter, Julia, 17 months old.  She is very loving, caring and has a cute sense of humor.  Except when it comes to her blankie…

As you see here in the picture, she’s wearing it like a shawl.  But it goes beyond that.  She carries it all around the house and CANNOT sleep without it!  One time, I washed it and it wasn’t quite dry yet when she was ready for her nap.  (When I pulled her blankie from the dryer, it was still pretty damp so I knew I couldn’t give it to her. ) I put her down anyway, and gave her another blanket that was just as soft, and 100% cotton.  She cried for over 20 minutes …non-stop.  When I went in to check on her, she threw the blanket at me.  Oh yeah, she is adorable!

Needless to say, I got her out of the crib and sat with her quietly until her blankie was dry.

Here’s my dilemma…I cannot find this blanket anywhere!  I’ve checked every store I go to, Target, WalMart, Sears, Marshall’s, Bed, Bath & Beyond,  Babies ‘R Us, ebay, Amazon.com, catalogs…and nothing.  I can’t even find the company online!  I have endured funny looks by the salespeople at the stores.  The rolling eyes of a teenager with a summer job.  The pathetic  empathetic  looks.  And, my favorite, “That lady is crazy” look.

Originally, I wanted to get another one, exactly the same, as a back-up for Julia, and 2 more in a different color for my new daughter, Olivia.   Now I’m worried I won’t be able to get even one!  This blanket was a gift from a very gracious teacher at my Dad’s elementary school where he was principal.  And, we just found out recently it was purchased from the now defunct, Mervyn’s.  Oy!  :(

So, I need to ask all you busy moms for a favor.  If you see this blanket , please let me know!  Leave me a comment (I check the website daily) and tell me what store you found it at.  I would appreciate any leads.  I’m desperate!  I promise I will be eternally grateful for any help you can give me.  It’s OK if it’s not pink, just need to be the same blanket with the magic ruffle.

What is the magic ruffle, you ask?  Well, it is magic because it’s the only  thing that calms my daughter down.  She does this whole little ritual where she takes the ruffle and brushes it lightly across her face and neck until she’s nice and relaxed.  If she’s having a rough day, we just give her that blankie and she is better.

I can’t take the chance of losing this blanket without having a back-up.  Julia’s world has been turned upside down the last few months.  She has a new baby sister (4 months old,) now she has to share her Mama, her routine has changed, she can’t go for walks after dinner because it’s too hot, etc.  Her world will be rocked again in a few weeks when her baby sister moves into her room…

See, she needs her blankie!  And in some ways, I do too.

Here’s a few close up pictures so you can see the details.  It really is a cute blanket.  Very girlie!  Thank you for your help!

At sears check on this page and see if this is it
    http://www.sears.com/shc/s/p_10153_02932041088P?mv=rr
    Item # 02932041088
    Model # 029B2072000
100% cotton machine washable cost $8.98
Little Wonders Newborn girl’s receiving blanket
I don’t know if this is it, because I don’t know the size of your blanket and the sears site doesn’t give size in inches or other either. I can’t tell if the edge is ruffled or not, but the pattern on the material looks kinda like one side of it matches what you have.

At shop.nordstrom.com you might want to type in the search box Item #184406 it’s a blanket in the baby/children’s apparel section. Anyways, the blanket doesn’t have the ruffle, but one of the prints looks kinda like yours. It is suppose to be a layette organic cotton receiving blanket (infant) and it’s size is 40″ x 30″. I didn’t read the whole description, so I’m not sure it is cotton jersy, it just kinda looked that way to me.

Sorry for all the typo’s. I took migrane medicine earlier, and I think it causes me to get brain glitches. I know how to spell, I’m just not doing it correctly when I type it for whatever reason. I know it’s the medication.

Oh, if she toddling around, did you look under mattresses. I just remembered one time a little tot we were babysitting must have slid his tiny little arm under the mattress and his little blanket got pushed under there. It wasn’t found for a few days until tucking under new clean sheets on the bed. Do you have cabinet doors under your bathroom sink? Could it have gotten in there somehow? Do you have a china cabinet with lower doors? Could it have gotten in there somehow? Tots are fast and they can put things places no one dreamed of. I’m sure you already checked your vehicle all over, under sheets, between seats etc.. I hope you find it, or can find a replacement she’ll love as much.
