It seems like what is old is new again… when I was a baby / toddler my mom used glass bottles – today with the concerns over BPA and going green – glass bottles are back. I do have to mention when I was about 1 ½ years old, I was walking with a glass bottle at a family bbq, I fell on the driveway and ended up needing about 70 stitches in my hands. When my two boys were babies – I went with the basic plastic Avent bottles. This time around with Emily – I was so happy to see the glass bottles with the silicone sleeves – what a GREAT idea….
One brand in particular is Wee*Go Glass bottles – although the silicone sleeve doesn’t guarantee non-breakage – it will help protect the bottle from breakage and also prevent bumping into other things in your diaper bag.
The silicone sleeve is free of plastics and is 100% non-toxic. The glass bottles and sleeves can be boiled or put in the dishwasher together. The silicone nipple is latex free and non-toxic. The plastic ring, plug and cap contain no polycarbonates and are food grade, FDA approved and recyclable. The sleeve provides a good gripping surface during feeding and also a great tactile experience for your baby. I did read on a few websites that Dr. Brown venting system can be used with these bottles – but I did not try it myself.
Check out www.buygreen.com for their great selection of Wee*Go bottles and lots of other products that help the environment or www.lifefactory.com (the manufacturer of the Wee*Go Bottle).

Even though breastfeeding is the best way to go, there are many reasons why women can’t or don’t want to do it. I personally had a bad experience with breastfeeding. We want to give women who don’t breastfeed a more eco-friendly choice.
Those are really neat looking..
But, why not promote something even more GREEN, mutually beneficial to the health of mother and child, and the natural way to go..
Breastfeeding.
The World Health Organization recommends breastfeeding until at least the age of two.
Think of all the bottles one could avoid. All the water we could save. The chemicals and by products of manufacturing..
