Seventh Generation is committed to becoming the world’s most trusted brand of authentic, safe and environmentally responsible products for a healthy home.  For 20 years the Burlington, Vermont based company has been at the forefront of a cultural change in consumer behavior and business ethics.

I also love their motto taken from the Great Iroquois Confederacy: In our every deliberation, we must consider the impact of our decisions on the next seven generations.  Their website www.seventhgeneration.com is an excellent resource to learn more about their products, gain access to coupons and special offers, learn about ways to help the environment, post to their forums and blog. Create a profile to join the Seventh Generation Nation.

Recently, Seventh Generation was kind enough to send us a Living Home Starter Kit (a great assortment of household products) to try out.  My boys currently share a bathroom – and all I can say is at the end of the day –the countertop is a MESS… Since they are getting older and their chore chart is expanding – I thought this would be a great opportunity to hand over their very own bottle of Natural All-Purpose Cleaner and a roll of paper towels.   I never really liked them to use some of the other cleaners we had used in the past – with the Seventh Generation products – they are non-toxic, biodegradable, vegetable based, and free of phosphates, dyes, and perfumes.  So far so good – they enjoy the responsibility (anything to get another star on the chart) and I feel a piece of mind that the products won’t harm my children.

Another product we were able to try out was the paper towels.  My first impression was the texture was a little rougher than what I was used to. WITH THAT BEING SAID…they work great and get the job done AND MORE IMPORTANTLY…Did You Know?

If every household in the U.S. replaced just one roll of 120 ct. virgin fiber paper towels with 100% recycled ones, we could save:

  • 933,000 trees
  • 2.4 million cubic feet of landfill space, equal to 3,700 full garbage trucks
  • 350 million gallons of water, a year’s supply for 2,700 families of four
  • And avoid 59,600 tons of emissions

In addition to the above mentioned products were also able to try the Glass & Surface Cleaner, Toilet Bowl Cleaner, Shower Cleaner, Tub & Tile Cleaner and Kitchen Cleaner.  My FAVORITE – was the Natural All-Purpose Cleaner (Green Mandarin & Leaf) – I found I was stealing it from the boy’s bathroom and walking around the house with it.  We were happy with all of the products and have been using them all.  The scents weren’t overpowering – just the right amount.

Seventh Generation would like offer one lucky Busy Mom reader the same opportunity.  One winner will win a Seventh Generation Living Home Starter Kit – includes:

Glass Cleaner – Ruby Grapefruit & Herb

All-Purpose Cleaner – Green Mandarin & Leaf

Toilet Bowl Cleaner – Emerald Cypress & Fir

Tub & Tile Cleaner – Emerald Cypress & Fir
