Dear Dell: From a EXTREMELY Irate Customer

busymompicI don’t know how many of you read about my previous encounter with Dell.  Long story short, I order a laptop but when it got here the CD drive was broken and after spending 5 hours on the phone I decided to send it back with a refund and buy a 14″ instead of a 15″.  I also tried to get some sort of compensation for my aggrivation but no go…the twits.

So, fast forward.  I ordered a 1420 Inspiron…I actually spent about $100 MORE on the computer than what I was getting from the refund so it had to be good.  I got the spring green color, with some memory boosts and hard drive boosts, and I was so excited because I am also getting the Adobe Suite so I can work on website design now.  So, it came yesterday.  I plugged it in to give it time to charge and after about 4 hours I turn it on…and it’s blank.  Actually it’s green screened which means something is REALLY flippin’ wrong with it.  Perfect.  So hubby gets on the phone with Dell and after about 45 minutes they tell us we will have to return it.  AGAIN.

So, just so you have this straight…I bought a laptop and it didn’t work.  So instead of taking my business elsewere I showed faith in Dell by returning that one and getting an UPGRADED MORE EXPENSIVE ONE, knowing that it would work and that the first was a fluke (even if they didn’t give me any discounts).  So, my second one gets here…and IT’S FLIPPIN BROKEN TOO.  Nice, just….nice.  So now I have to waste my time again on the phone with the returns department, and this time they better make it worth my while.

I am sure I will have more to report, and you can be sure I will make sure you hear about it.  This is one p*ssed of Dell customer signing off.

PS.  The new configuration for the battery on the bigger Dell laptops suck.

  1. DELL SUCKS! They always have and always will…end of story. I KNEW when I bought my laptop I wouldn’t be going with them, just because they’re flimsy computers. I bought a MacBook, worth the extra money in my opinion. I suggest you go with Apple or HP…maybe even Sony. Those are all brands I trust.

  2. Gosh, that stinks. I have two Dells- one a PC and one a laptop and have not had that kind of trouble. Two in a row? They had best be coming to you house and hand delivering the next one..and for free would be a nice gesture..Id say.
